KUTTE KA EK DIN / A DOG’S DAY by Narendran R Nair Eklavya, 2018, 24 pp., 55
November 2018, volume 42, No 11

A Dog’s Day is about a dog who lived with a caring family. He ran out of the house one day and went to the city. He met a pack of wild dogs and asked them the way to the city. On the way he met many animals—birds, grasshoppers, squirrels and wild dogs in a garbage can. He was tired because of his journey so he went to the river to take a break. By then it was really late and his family was searching for him. He asked a bunch of animals (the ones he met earlier) for the way back home. And then he found his family in the woods searching for him. They took him back home safely. And then he never went out alone again.

This is the story I imagined from the book. Maybe there was another story. The book did not have any words. I like wordless picture books because there are hundreds of stories you can imagine. There was no introduction in this story as it was a picture book. The title was interesting. That is how I came up with this story.  In my point of view the dog was very brave even though it looked scared at times. I know that I would be scared to go out alone if it is too far away from my house.

The pictures were very cute. They were much better than all the other books I’ve read about dogs. Some day maybe I will try drawing the dogs.

The best thing about this book is that no one can imagine the same thing. There can be a thousand stories in this book.
